I ' NOKOTAY IN PORT. Tho U.S. and A. liner Noltatay arrived in port from Auckland yesterday; and berthed at No. 1 Queen's Wharf. She
has 15,000 cases of oil, and 522 tons of general cargo for discharge here, and afterwards will visit Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. Captain 0. Henningsen is in command of the vessel, and Messrs. Dalgety and Company are the local agents. NISHKAHA PIIOII NEW YORK. According to Australian fileß, the U.S. and A. Line steamer Nlshniaha left Now York on November 5, cargo-laden fo"r Auckland, Wellington, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. The vessel, which ia coming to the agency of Dalgety and Co., ib due at Auckland about December 13, and at Wellington - about December 20. The Nishmala is a vessel of 6071 tons. KANNA PROM OVERHAUL. Tho Union Company's steamer Kanna, which haß been undergoing survey and overhaul at Port Chalmers, is to sail tomorrow for Auckland with a largo shipment of general cargo. Captain A, Watchliu is in command, and has with him the following olilcers:—Chief, Mr. A.. W. Beardsall: second. Mr. 1. E. Bees: third, Mr. J. Warcup; chief engineer, Mr, T. Scott; Becond, Mr. E. PAPAROA TO CALL AT WELLINGTON. ' The New Zealand Shipping Company an. nouncea that the Paparoa, due in New .Zealand early in January, t will call at Wellington about December 5 to land North Island passengers. The Paparoa. will later proceed to Lyttelton and Dunedin to discharge her cargo. KAIKOURA'S MOVEMENTS. To continue loading for Homo the. Kalkoura is to leave Wellington at the end of the week for Timaru and Wanganui. She is to return to Wellington before sailing for the United Kingdom. '
MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. A. O. Kennedy has joined the Shahlistan as chief officer, relieviirc Mr. J. W. Cameron, who has come ashore for instructions. Captain It, Rodger, late mate of the Kapiti, has. been appointed to the command of the John, in place of Captain Hawick. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received cabled advice from the White Star Line, Liverpool, to the effect that tho 18,500 tons triple screw steamer Ceramic, which gaiued such favour amongst travellers to and from the United Kingdom before the war, and which established such a fine record during tho war as a troopship, sailed from Liverpool on November 18,.after having received a complete overhaul, included in which was l tho entire remodelling of her passenger accommodation. Thi3 rearrangement has resulted in a new classification under the passenger-carrying regulations, and slio will now bo classified as carrying oneclasß'cabin passcngero only. The roomy two and four-berth cabins will be a very distinctive feature, and in these,, accommodation will bo. available for about 500 passengers. With tho reduced number of passengers now provided for, the roominess of the decks, etc., is considerably accentuated.

The barque Raupo will be ready to leave for Newcastle to-day, and will go to sea as soon as the weather Is favourable.
