One of tho most annoying things to the man who drives a car is tho way his brakes seem to lose their interest in life, tec- iSieir grip, and whinn. Very likely the brake lining has become coated with oil or grease, which acts ns a lubricant; This condition is dangerous, for it may cause the brako to slip when applied. At the earliest opportunity tho lining and the hvako drums should bo wiped clean whlh kerosene. Perhaps the brake lining may liavo become Vorn. so that insufficient pressure is brought to bear ngain6t tho reyolving metal drum, and tho car cannot bo stopPud quickly. A few adjustments will often compensate for tho reduced thickness of tho Wrn lining. If tho lining has become worn bovond tho margin of safety, it is best to telce no ohances with safety, but to have the brakes re-lined.
