IS IT ULTIU-ViRES?; ' Br Telerraph—Press Asenciatloa : Auckland. December 3. "It is not'for me to-giro nn opinion o(i matters Hint concern the courts,''' said the Prime Minisle]'to-day, when ask«d as to a point that, had been made ni an Auckland case dealing with housing, "but my personal view is that the wartime legislation to ' which reference is made iu the Housing Act has not been /repealed,"
Iho point was an interesting one. ■ 'It was that if the special war legislation lapsed at the conclusion of six months njjtcr the official declaration of peace, the Housing Act which is now in operation is really nltrn-vires. The Prime Minister, of course, gives onlj- his personal view, as lie was careful to make clear. In effect, it is that the housing legislation is valid and regular.
