A PLAYHOUSE DIFFERENCE
VAUDEVILLE ARTIST CHARGED WITH ASSAULT. By Telegraph-Press Association. Auckland, December 2. A vaudeville artist; Louis Lo Brun (32), who was arrested on a charge of having assaulted Alice Ermey, n female vaudeville artist, at the Opera House, when the performers were arranging their properties early in the day for a show at a later hour, came before Mr. Poymon, S.M., this morning, anil was • rmnnnded till Monday. Tho injured woman was in attendance, and there wore several witnesses from tho playhouse present to give evidence, but in view of the fact Hint Mr. Singer (who is representing accused) was engaged in a murder trial at tho Supreme Court, an adjournment was made as stated in order that accused might not be embarrassed in his defence. The evidence of some witnesses, who hayo to leavo for Sydney at the week-end in tho course of their business, will bo taken to-morrow morning. It is understood that n statement has been offered by ono of the witnesses that Mrs. Ermey sustained her injuries through falling down soma stem whon nervously excited by an argument between her husband end «c- ---' cused. ________
