Several instances lmveoccurredin London of unemployed seizing unoccupied municipal properly in order'to establish relief organisations. Their'latest step was to occupv tlio Town Halls of Tottenham and Edmonton. They have hoisted a red flag and declare that they will remain until work is found— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
RATIONS SUPPLIED BY PUBLIC. (Rec. December 2, 10:15 p.m.) London, December 2. Unemployed, seized the CamberwolJ Tree Library and tho Hackney Drill Hall. The 'public are supplying them with rations of bread, bully beef, and coffee. They also seized twenty-one empty houses in Camberwell. Riotous 6cenes were witnessed nv Dalston, where unemployed nttempted a similar .seizure of empty houses. Tho police were compelled to draw their truncheons. the whole problem is a serious one. Some boards of guardians are granting men ten shilligs a week, wives a similar sum,, and for each child ss.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
