■Building permits to tho total value of .£8833 were issued by the Mnsterton Borough Council during'tho month of November.
The police in Mnsterton have been advised that certain goods stolon from the residence of Mr. Reinana Boycs some months ago have been returned through, the post fromMaiigawekn. There is no evidence to indicate by whom tho articles were returned, but they appear to include everything, with the exception of a ring, which was picked up in'the street in Mastorton about the date of the theft. .
•four motor-cars, four motor-oycles, and two motor trucks were registered by tho Mnsterton Borough Council during tho month of November.
A welcome soeial was tendered on Monday to the Rev. Dent, tho new Anglican Minister of St. Lake's, Grey-town. Tho hall was well filled. Mr. M. Maxlon controlled the gathering, and a number of lady members of the choir and others assisted at the function. In addition to church members, tho Revs. Murray (Presbyterian) and Varncl (Methodist) were present. Musical items by Roes's orchestra, and Mr. Bull, Misses Armstrong, and tidy, nnd Mr. Trossidcr, and a recitation tyv Miss E. Feast, and a song by the guest were all thoroughly enjoyed. Refreshments were provided by members of the choir, assisted by Mesdnmes Keedwcll, Kees, Day, nnd others. Mr, Maxton welcomed Mr. Dent to the parish, f.nd called on Messrs,-Murray nnd Vowel to say a few words. Mr. Dent suitably replied, and tho gathering was brought to a close with the singing of tho National Anthem.
Tbo Masterton Borough Council met last night, the Mayor prosidintf. A special report from the consulting; engineer (Mr. Sturrock) on Hie completion of Hie drainage of tho borough was held over for a fortnight. The Mayor said that Mr. Slurrock's renort substantiated the report of Sir. Evans, the rouncil's' cnirineor, on the -same question. Mr. Howard Booth, of Corterbon, was appointed assessor for tire council in a compensation claim, I). Donald t. Borough Council.
