Speaking at a meeting of tho South African Institutoof Medical Researches # at Johannesburg, Sir Sponcor Lister claimed to have discovered an anti-pneumonic vaccine, winch had greatly reduced the mortality amongst Knilir workers m tho un'nes, and had also cured two cases of sleeping sickness, the patients being soldiers who had served in East Africa, and had become infected with that disonsc. The treatment is drastic and prolonged, and consists of serum injections.
Tho shortage of British chinawaro in New Zealand does not seem likely to bo remedied for some time to come.
