£800,000 CONTRACT
NEW, ZEALAND ORDER FOR AN ' ENGLISH HEM., The Nottingham works of Messrs. Camniell,. Laird and Co. have, says the "Daily Mail," secured a contraot to build 2500 railway wagons for the New Zealand Government at a. cost of .£BOO,000. These works were built during the war to make munitions and now employ about 1000 men.
. This contract will necessitate a large ' addition to the staff in view of the other bis orders now being executed'for rolling stock for various parts of the world. Tho New Zealand contract was obtained against the competition of some'of the best-known American and French firms, as well as German.
