NEW SCHOLARSHIPS
BEQUESTS TO CANTERBURY COLLEGE. Bv TeleeraDh—Proas Association.' ' Christchurch, November 29. Two bequests in the way of scholarships were notified at to-day's meeting of tho Board of Governors of Canterbury College. The first was a bequest of JilOtH) by-the late Austin Henry Alabaster, of Wellington, for the purpose of a scholarship or scholarships in classical literature in memory of his fathor, the late Rev. Charles Alabastor, M.A., of Lincoln College, Oxford, such" scholarship to bo known as the Charles and Austin Henry Alabaster ' Scholarship. The second bequest was under tho will of tho lato Robert Triggs, formorly Public Trustee, who left substantial provision, though the total is not yet known, for the foundation of a scholarship or scholarships in technical education, tena'ble at Canterbury College, to be available for boys and girls under fourteen years of age attending State primary schools. Tho will provides that until the sum in trust produces .£2OO clear per annum, the scholarship is not to be awarded. Tho scholarships are to be known as tho Robert Triggs Scholarships.
