At last night's meeting of the Petone Borough Council, Councillor J. Churcliouse moved: "That this council desires to place on record its high appreciation of the valuable services rendered to the Dominion 'by 'he late Mr. A. W. Hogg, a self-sacrificing and strenuous worker in building up and developing the national system tf uduiation." The Mayor seconded the motion, which was carried, the councillors standing in silence.

Mr. Frank Goldberg, who has been on a visit to Australia, returned to Wellington yesterday.
