SHIPS M'CLEARY WINS IN HEAVYWEIGHT CLASS

ml Sydney, November 25. The finals for the Australasian Amateur Boxing Championships were decided last night. In the bantam class, Bell (New South Wales), 7st. 71b., defeated Maddox (New Zealand), Bst, on points. The first two rounds wero oven. 801 l won the third by forcing tactics. In the fourth round Maddox repeatedly jabbed tho left to his opponent's face, and won the round. The judges disagreed, and the referee awarded the decision to Bell. Many disagreed with the verdict.
In the feather-weight class, Stanley (Queensland), Sst. 131b., defeated Can'o (Victoria), 9st., on joints. In tho light-weujht class, Morgan (Queensland), 9st. 71b., defeated Desmond (New Zealand), 9st. 51b. The judges disagreed. ■ In the opening round Morgan connected with the right to the jaw, and Desmond fought pluckily. The first two. rounds were even. Desmond won, tho next by good lefts, and Morgan used an effective right, The next round saw a fa6t and even fight. In the welter-weights, Gilshennon (Queensland), 10st. 31b., defeated Hungerford (Queensland), 9st. llilb., on points. . In the ' middle-weight class, • Finlav (New South Wales), ICSt. 101b., defeated Coll (Queensland), lOst. 12j1b., on points. In the heavy-weight class, M'Cleary (New Zealand), list. 9Jlb., met Lang (NewSouth Wales), 12st. 911b. Tho decision was never in doubt. M'Cleary outboxed and outfought his opponent in every round.—Press Assn.
