ABOUT BARMAIDS
A BILL TO BE PKEPAKED,
Mr. L. M. Isitt (Christchurch North) had a question on tho order paper at the end of the session with reference to barmaids. He suggested that the scheme of registration was not effective, and that many barmaids were using tho certificates of other women.. The manifest age of some of the women, he said, made it highly improbable that thoy were registered "in 1910, when the lists were supposed to be closed. Tho Minister of Labour, in reply, states thnt legislation is required to cover tho points raised. The Crown LawDraftsman has been instructed to prepare a Bill accordingly.
