!,ate in the session tho member for Nelson (Mr. Atmore) placed before the Minister of Agriculture a cablegram received by the Nelson Farmers' Freezing Company, protesting • that Vestey Brothers we)e getting some preferential treatment in uhe matter of shipping space for meat. Tho Minister has replied that the author of the cablegram is under misapprehension. The vessel that has arrived to lift the first cargo of beef for Vestey Brothers will noil load any free meat, all the spaco being required for Imperial Government stocks. It is anticipated that all the Imperial Govemment stocks of mutton and lamb will be cleared from Now Zealand early in January.
