Therefore, the executive would continue its work with the greatest enthusiasm. The Hon. Dr. Collins (vice-chairman) remarked that th? assurances of the. British Bed Cross and other organisations, 'which had the confidence of the British public, were sufficient guarantee to Wellington ' people that the cause was well 'worthy of their support. On the motion of tho Mayor, tho executive adopted a resolution urging the citizens of "Wellington to give a sum of money that would he a credit to the .community and an undoubted blessing to the children for Tvhorii the gift was i . urgently needed. * ~„, . , I .
