Tho Auckland Association wrote suggesting that a Samoan team should tour New Zealand during the present season. —It was deoided not to approve of the idea owing to tho proposed visit of an Australian team, nnd also owing to tho high cost of travelling. December 25, 27 and 28 weve aputoved as dates for the Shield match between Auckland and JFawke's Bay. It was reported tbnt the Heatlwoto Williams Shield match between Palmers-.-ton. North High School and the Napier High School would probably bo commenced at Palmereton North on December 15. Challenges for the shield had . also been received from tho Christchurch and Wnitaki Boys' High Schools. Consideration of tlis da to for tho pro- ■ posed North v. South. Island match, waa deferred until some finality was reached concerning tho proposed tour of an Aus- , tr&lian team.
