Hughes stated in the federal House of Representatives that Mr. Lawson, Premier of Victoria, had rejected his proposal for the settlement of the brown coal dispute, and suggested .that the High Court hhould be Invoked to nscorlnirrwherhcr tho decision of the tribunal should override State awards. Mr. Lawson declined tho suggestion.— Press Assn.
