Venizelos is defeated in Old Greece and Macedonia, all the Ministers except M. ' Simos being defeated. M. Government has announced that in accordance with corlstituHonal procedure the Government will hand over power to the victors at the polls without awaiting tho opening of the new Chamber, and adds that it is evident' that the Government lias been mistaken in its expectations. It is hoped tliat M. Yenizr4os -will bo able to control 'the situation without his supporters having recourse to violent weasuros. M.
