Tli'o report stated that the Babcock boiler of 365.h.p. had.been orected;'pipe« for tho air compression lino were on . the site, and poles for the transmission lino to the Tokomaru Valley were being placed on tho ground. Preparations wero reported to be. weir advanced to enable tunnel-piercing to be started. Labour was in : sufficient supply, about 170 men being .employed, nud all wero wall accommodated and well satisfied.
