Tho N.Z. Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report having held their annual Huntervillo cattle fair in their yards on November 11, when over 700 head came forward to a large and representative attendance of buyers. Bidding was keen for all' classes of cattle, with tho exception of aged bullocks, -which were inclined to drag. Empty cows and empty dairy heifer* met with very keen competition. During the day the firm emitted 600 head at tho following rates—Forward 4-year bullocks, £14 195.; store ditto, £11 to £13 5a.; good 3-year bullocks, £10 10s. to £11 25.; roush-conditioncd ditto, £9 to £9 Ba.; 2-year steers, good, £9 10s.. to £10; coloured ditto, to £8 55.; fat cows, £10 10s., £10 15s. to >£11 10s.; store ditto, £7 125., £» to £8 135.; crossbred cows, .with calves at foot, £7 55., £8, to £8 95.; yearling to 18-month dairy heifers, £9, £9 12s. to £10 25.; year-, ling- steers, good colours. £6 55., £6 15b. to £7 2s. 6d.:. poorer ditto, to £5 2b. 6d.; yearling heifers, £5 10s., £6 15b. to £7 2s. 6d.f crossbred bull?, to £8 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agtncy Co., Ltd., Hnwcra branch, report for week endine; November 13:—At Kakaramea a Rood demand nccountcd for practically tho whole of a heavy yarding of all classes of stoelt being sold under the hammer. We quote:—Fat cows (medium), to £13 lis.; forward cows, to £11 Ids.; fresh-conditioned ditto, £8; othors, at market value; maiden heifers, £7 10a. to £10; Jersey yearlinp; heifers, £11 lis.; others, to £7 65.; 15-mouth steers, £3 to £5 Is.; grade Jersey bull, Signs.; Shorthorn bulls, to 19igns.; shorn hoggets, 23«.; store pigs, to £3 11b. ; weaners, to 255. On Wednesday, at Eltham, cattle were penned In average numbers. Bidding was not brisk, «F.scciaUy with dairy cattle. A fair entry of bull 6 came forward, but these were not sought after. We quote:— Store pigs, to £3 17s. 6(L; weaners, 245. to 315.; forward cows, to £11 55.; stores, £5 IBs to £7 145.; yearling heifers, Jersey cross, £10 10s.; others,' to £5 Bs.; empty heifers, to £8; Shorthorn bullß, to £14; other breeds, to 14gns,; others at mnrkot value. Hairy cattle at late rates. On Thursday, at Hawera, we had a good yarding of cattle. Competition was fairly keen throughout.
