Sydney, November 15. The "Herald's" cricket correspondent comments on the solid perfectness but/ uninteresting quality of the Englishmen's batting. There was no war of movement, only a solid trench combat—one sido dug in and the other trying to dig them out. The outstanding feature of the visitors' work wns caution. The "Telegraph" says:—"The batting throughout was classical, but not of the kind virile Australians desire." Both papers express disappointment at the weakness of the Victorian batting.— Press Assn.
