GOLF LINKS EXTENSION OPPOSED.
Tho proposal to extend the municipal coif links by acquiring: an area of land bW'to Wakefield Park, was opposed by o "'deputation from 'the 'Island. Bay Municipal "Electors' Association, winch, waited on the City Council last night. Tho deputation was introduced by Councillor J. 0. Shorland.- .'•„.' ~ Mr. E. J. Colicy said that m 1915 the association he .represented receded a. promise from, the Reserves Committee that a piece of land to the west .of Wakehekl Park would be reserved for women and children. He would give no definite reply until ho had made an "i----spcKoiiof the locality. If councillors would' visit island Bay. with him, -he thought- that a settlement, absolutely air to all parties, could be armed at. Subsequently, the councillors ngreed to visit fue locality with the Mayor.
