(Eec. November 11, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 10. At tho wool sales there were laa'tpi ■withdrawals. Merinos continue to be soucht with rather more confidence. Orossbreds are more solid, but it is still impossible to ascertain values exactly.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date November 9: —M'ool sale's opened. .Very little merino sold.. Compared with last sales closing rates, superfine merino is 10 per cent., and average to inferior nro 15 nor cent, to 20 per cent, lower. Crossbred is 20 per cent, to 25 pei\ cent, lower, with very poor demand for coarser Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from London, dated November 9-.—Wool sales have opened. Halfbreds are sixpence lower. Crossbreds. 4G quality, fourpence lower than closing rates last sales; coarse orossbreds. 3G's to ifl's, are neglected. Very little wool of any grade was actually sold. T ,, Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London friends, Messrs. Sanderson. Murray and Co.',-under date November 9:—Sales have opened. Merino best descriptions declined 10 per cent. Medium merino declined 15 per cent, to 20 per cent. Inferior merino -declined 15 per cent, to 20 per cent. Crossbred declined 20 per cent, to 25 per cent.— practically none sold. Coarse crossbred, nothiliV sold. . , , .i Tho Bank of New Zealnnd has received the following advice from its London office, under date November 9:-Tho sales have opened with' weak competition and fair attendance of buyers. There is a j slow demand owing to depression in trade. Compared with quotations ot October 1, greasy 'fine crossbred wool is sd. per lb. lower; greasy medium cross'bred wool is 3}d. per lb. lower; greasy coarse crossbred wool is 3d. per lb. ower; "reasy merino wool is 4Ad. ipor 11>. lower; halfbreds are 6Jd. per lb. lower; coarse oro=sbred wool, no bidding. . New Zealand Farmers Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., Ltd., report bavin" received the following cablegram from their London office, dated November 9:—At wool sales, which opened today, there was a good attendance of buyers, but little competition.
