HEMP AND TOW GRADED
A return- showing the,. quantities of hemp, tow, and stripper-slips graded at tho ports of tho Dominion during the month of October ha|s been supplied by tho Department of Agriculture. The total number of bales of hemp graded was 6377, as compared with 8a34 for the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 2157 bales. Tor the 12 mouths ended October 31 tho number of bales graded was 96,948, as compared with 96,530 for tho previous 12 months, an increase of «8 bales. The total number of bales of tow graded was 1285 as compared with 23.4 for the same month last year, a decrease of 1039 bales. Tor the 12 months ended October 31 tho number of bales graded was 21,623, as compared with. 10,817 lor the previous 12 months, an increase ot 4SOG bales. , , ... During the month 195 bales of strip-per-slipa were graded, as compared witn "nil" for the same month last year. For tho 12 months ended October il, tho number of bales graded was 576. as compared with 152 .bales for the previous 12 months, an mcrenso of 421 bales.
