(To the Editor.?
I .Sir.—Mr. 'Isitt, H.P.. claimed last night that legislation should follow the feeling of the people and not tho thinking. It very seldom happens that we can put our finder impressively on the Rore place in our politics, but Mr. Isitt has th\s time done it" for u?. not Wint ha intended to do it. hut tho inexorable hand of fate mndo him. Political feeling has been the groat appeal at the hustings! Political Ifcelinar has been tho big lead in tho legislation'; a.risinj» from tho elections at thos» hustings! Presently tho reducßn of the argument i»jll reach the breaking point: tho crv of the peoplo will be for tho mountains they built with their stupidity to molt away, and not fall on those who built them. Then will have arrived tho limo when legislation shall lie hy thinking and not hv feeling, and logic, come into rits own again.—l am, vtc,
HKNRY BODLET. The date—Guy Fawke's Day.
