Such was the remarkable evidence given by a doctor at an inquiry infa tho death of an inmate of the 'Whittingham (Preston) Asylum. His age was ■45, and he had been admitted to the asylum suffering from melancholia and ■'fjlujions. He was of suicidal ten•lepcles, and must have swallowed the cni'ns prior to his admission, the doctor .idded. "Death from wm tiw wrdlet.
