PROPOSED SHIPPING COMPANY. The considerable amount of dissatisfaction that exißts in Gisborne business circles respecting tlio inadequacy of the prosent facilities lor tho carrying of freight to and from Gisborne hn» led to ntepß being taken for tho purchase of two suitable cargo steamers for the Gis-bornc-East Coast trade. Tho proposal, Bays an exchange, appearß to be meeting with a good deal of support amongst Gisborne importers, and a meeting of those interested in the proposed Gisboruo Shipping Company will be held at an early date, wheu the object will ho discussed and certain offers considered.
