MEETING OF COMMITTEE. Tlio weekly meeting of the Committee of Management of the "Wellington Cricket Association was held on Tuesday, Mr. C. 0. Wilson being in tlio cliair.

The Banks Commercial College applied for permission to enter nu eleven for tlio fourth grade competition,. and this was granted.

The resignation of Mr. J. Fanning as a member of the committee was accepted with regret. Mr. Fanning wrote that ho found it increasingly difficult to Attend the meetings owing to private engagements. , The Canterbury Association wrote asking for a match against Wellington at Christchurch on December 31 and January 1 n "d -■ W(ls decided to inform "Canterbury that since Auckland was to play Hnwke's Bay at Christmas Wellington was willing to play at Christchurch on December 25, 27. and 28. It was also decided to play Otago at Wellington on January 1, 3, and i, and Auckland at Wellington on January.22, 21 and 25. UMPIRES' ASSOCIATION. The fortnightly meeting of the Umpires' Association was held on Monday night, Mr. W. E. Bock presided over !i good attendance. The secretary reported that good progress had been made in the association since tjie last meeting, and Messrs. P. E. Waddy, G. Davis, F. Kelling, and A. Francis were elected members of tflle .association, and six new members were proposed. His Excellency the Governor-General was elected patron of the association, Mr. J. P. Firth president, and Messrs. J. P. Luke, M.P., C. E. Stevens, 1\ Houldsworth, A. F. Wiren, C. A. Richardson, G. Webb, C. G. Wilson, and W. Eeid were elected vice-presidents. Much enthusiasm is being shown by members of the association, and there is overy indication of a verv successful season, but many more members are still required. THIKD AND FOURTH CLASS FIXTURES.
