FORMER DUNTROON CADETS

RETURNING FROM INDIA. l ? ive lieutenants of the New Zealand Corps, ex-cadets of Duntroon Military College, Australia, who have been attached to Imperial regiments in India for the last twelve months, will be leavictr on their return to the Dominion in the course' of the next few days. Their names are: Messrs. R. C. C. Steele, W. N. W. Leech, L. E. Earle, P. S. Gilkmjhr.m, and G. H. Clifton. Originally of these former Duntroon cadets left for India, but Lieutenant A. M. Sutherland, who was attached to, the 21st Lancers, died of enteric fever recently. Tho lata officer was a son of Major T. C. Sutherland, of Manaia. Some of the officers mentioned above have been on iic'iv:, service on the Indian frontier during the last few. months. ' . ..

t'n November 11 another batch of six former Duntroon cadets will bo sent from New Zealand to India. Their names are as follow, .the arms of the service to which they will be attached being given in iStrenthesisC. 11. G. Davis (infantry), S. C. V. W." Sugden (infantry), A. If. Lambly (cavalry), G. H. Nevill (artillery), S. F. Allen (infantry), and W. G. Gentry (sappers and miners). These officers, who left Duntroon last year, are at present holding lieutenants' commissions in the New Zealand Staff Corps and Royal New Zealand Artillery, and they will remain in India for twelve months. They will travel to Bombay via Sydney by the Malwa. The following ten New Zealand cadets who have graduated at Duntroon Military College after a four years' course, will leave for the Dominion early in December:—A. G. Sclioles, D. T. Maxwell, G. if. M'Casliill, C. S. J. Duff. St. J. A. Hill. F. £. Ewen, C. A. D'A. Blackburn, S. N. Gillman, J\ A. M. Clachan, and A. J. L. Whyte.
