FIVE INJURED IN MOTOR ACCIDENT

CAR STRIKES BRIDGE AND'IS THROWN INTO CREEK. By Telegraph—Preßa Association. Oannevlrke, November 4. A serious motor accident occurred at .Waipatiki last, evening. A car, driven by John M'Lean, containing seven • passengers, struck the end of the Kereru Bridge and landed upside down in a creek below. The occupants had a miraculous escape from death, Five of them, are now patients in the Dannevirko Hospital.

Those injured were: Mrs. W. Smith (pinned under car for a considerable time and lias a bad scalp wound), Mrs. D. M'Bieth, (broken collarbone, bruises, and shock), Mrs. Pearce (sprained wrists jyid bruises), — Pearce, aged 4 years (fracture at base of the skull and other injuries), Miss Linton, aged 14 "years :(arm Broken and injury to left).

Two little children, one a baby, escaped practically unhurt. The driver sustained bruises, shoo'c, and cuts on the face and head. .
