Last evening an address, the subject of which" was "Women. Law and Parental Responsibilities." was given bj- Miss Lyra Taylor , to the E.O.W. circle "of tho Pioneer Club. Dr. Agnes Benliett presided, mid tho lecture was followed with tho keenest interest by the gatheringIn Miss Taylor's opinion tho chief disability under which women ill this country labour is tho disability of convention lo which might be added the disability of apathy., Within the lnw women had a romai'kable amount of freedom, but unfortunately they had not bothered to make themselves acquainted with tha extent of their freedom. The position of women in regard to marriage, divorce, tho laws of property mid their relation and responsibility to children was outlined, and at. the conclusion of her address Miss Taylor was asked numerous questions. The liveliest interest in tho subject was displayed by members,' tho rolation in which women stood in regard to children, what wore their rights so far as they were concerned, occupying first place, while closely rivalling it was tho matter of divorce, tho grounds for it, and tho matter of alimony. Miss Taylor was thanked, for her very interesting lecture. \ '
