Another'statement regarding the busi noss of the session was mad© in the Houso of Representatives by the Prime Minister, in reply to a auestion asked by the Loader of tho Opposition (Mr. Wiiford). Mr; Mousey said that of the ten Govorninent Bills now on the Order Paper, about seven would bo proceeded with. He could not eay definitely what Bills would bo dropped. The Bank of New Zealand Bill would be takem that day, and he did not think that it need occupy a great deal of time. The Bill dealing with narrow-gauge railways, the Orchard and Garden Diseases Bill, and the Stone Quarries Bill were required, and he did not think • that they were contentious. A Babbit Nuisance Amendment Bill was on the Order Paper ami lie agreed that legislation dealing with the rabbit nuisance was urgently required. Mr. Young (Waikato): It is wanted, and it has been promised'. Mr. Massey: "I know it is wanted, but I have had somo experience of Babbit Bills in this House.. I don't know that-wo will be able to get it through." Mr. Massey added that a Railways Authorisation Bill would deal with three short lines. There would be the usual yiuauce. Bill, which was lengthy but not contentious. 'Two "Washing-up" Bills, an Appropriation Bill, the Supplemcn-, tary Estimates and a Bill dealing'with main roads had also to be considered. The Education Bill, now before a committee, did not seem to be contentious; pensions wore dealt with in tho Finance Bill. A Main Roads Bill was to be introduced. It was not contentions and was regarded merely as a beginning. Tho Marriage Amendment Bill was to be proceeded with. Thevo were two or throe local- Bills.' The Prime Minister added that he did not know if it would bo pwsible Jo end the session this week. The matter, rested with members thomselves. If they liked to reduce talking to a minimum they could get through tho.work by Saturday. .
