When the field settled down Salitros was in front, Tangalooma and Malurys being next. Salitros led past the stand from Erasmus, Sea Bound, arid Syce Knight. Eurythmic hore was running about eighth, and Poitrel was further back. _ Salitros had a two-length lead o£ Malurys Tunning down the side. He still had command till approaching the Bix furlongs, where Tangalooma went to the front. The order into the straight was: Erasmus, Tangalooma, Paratoo, Eurythmic, and Poitret. Erasmus had a lead of a couple of lengths from,.Eurythmic below the distance, and at the distance Erasmus was still leading, Eurythmio being next. Poitrel came with a fine run on the outside, and beat Erasmus by half, a length. Queen Comedy was two lengths off, third. Eurvthmic being-fourth, two.and a half lengths off.
