ROSENEATH AND HATAITAI SCHOOLS
NEW'HEADMASTERS APPOINTED. Tip till the present year th"o Hataitai School has been a side 6chool, under the control of the headmaster of the- RoseJieath School, Mr. B. Darroch, but owing to the rapid growth of the Hatatlai district and school it has been found Jiacessary-to make the school a separate one under the control of its own headmaster. With the resignation of Mr. Darroch from the control of the two snhoola and the Education Board (to take up tutorial duties under-the Government), tho board has had to find two new headmasters. Three names were sub'mitted to each of the school committees in tho ordinary way, and the committees have made their choice. Mr. J. -1' O. Stephens has been appointed headmaster of the Boseneath School. Mr. Stephens, who is at present first assistant at the Petono West School, has had eleven years' teaching experience, and has been in the employ of the Wellington Education Board since 1913. _ Mr. Balfour 1 Ke'an. who has been appointed headmaster at. Hataitai,' is' at present 'first assistant at tho Willis Street School. He began his teaching career as a pupil teacher in 1891. Both headmasters are U certificate men.
