MONTHLY MEETING,
(Prom Our "Own Correspondent.) Cartorton, November 2. The Wnirarnpa Electric Power Board met at Carterton to-day, . Mr. 1. \. Mooro presiding. ' '. Tho Under-Secretary, Department .of ■Internal Affairs, wrote, acknowledging receipt of tho board's letter applying for approval to proceed with the Wiohme scheme, and stating that, the i™ttcr 'had been forwarded on to the Public Works Department. , . , It "was, stated.'that the engineers report" and plans "had been submitted to tho Department, but its decision had not vet come to hand. The Public Trustee wrote in reference to the -Ijonrd's inquiry, regarding a loan for the scheme, regretting that the same could not .bo entertained. , ,„ The Te Awamutu Power Board wrote in reply to the Wairarapa Board, statin"- that it had arranged a third ot its .£120.000 loan with.the Public Trustee, the first instalment at Si per cent., and the second instalment at SI per cent. The chairman said it was evident that the board would have to give special consideration to the matter of finance, as it was.apparent that the money would not be obtainable -from public institutions. He suggested .the. issue of. .£IOO debentures nt 1 favourable rato of interest and considered that the members ot the board should give, the matter their earnest, consideration, in order that the question.'could.-be fully discussed at. a future meeting.'
