The Colonial Sugar Company has offered a reward of JSOO for evidence leading to a conviction.

Charles Lilliwall, foreman in charge of the wharf deliv-ery-of the New Zealand Express Company, and Francis George Forbett, lighterman. wero- charged with the theft of sugar valued at .£O2 3?.-5d., and remanded on bail of .£l5O each.

Edwin George Thompson (grocer), Valentino, Townsend (carter), Charles John Anderson (carter), «iud Edward I'\ Bowden (carter) were charged with receiving tho stolen sugar, and wero remanded on bail, Thompson in ,£l5O, and the others- in ,£1(H) each.

It is alleged that the thefts form part of a total of 400 tons of sugar that is missing. The police are stated to be on the track of the other portion.
