Chapman, Mesdames M'Vicar, Carver, and Snow were present at tho monthly meeting of tho Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard yesterday.

On tho recommendation of the Finance Committee it was decided: That the following recommendations of the Charitr.ljJo Aid Committee be authorised and iTTs work re structural repairs at Oliiio Home be put in hand forthwith, vizi: fa.) Sink-ago of wall over men's main latrines bo attended to bv removal of (Teeayed timbeis, replacing oy concrete olocks ami where new timber; (1>) that the sanitary offices in the snperiiitendcnt's quarters lie removed and grouped with tho female staff's offices; (c) that' tho defective and leaking windows receive attention; (d) timt the scullery and pastsige be transposed; and fe) that a tradesmen's entrance ba provided at tho front basement. •

"That owing to the nnftire of the work to be carried out, and tlic "unsettled stato of the building trade preventing any reliable estimate of cost lieing obtained, a good working foreman be engaged to buy material and employ labour under the supervision of the architects, Messrs. C'erc and Williams,

"That authority be given the executors' of the estate of James Powell, late of Westport, to' expend the sum of ,£325, being one-fourth of .£SOO required to effect repairs to the dwelling-house of the late ,T. Powell, subjcct to the consent being.obtained of the other three hospital and charitable aid boards interested in tho property."
