A representative public meeting, and ftlsn a meeting of the Stratford Railway passed resolutions strongly protesfinir against the proposal outlined by flie Minister of Public Works in the Public Works Statement to stop all work on 'the Stratford end of the StratfordOkahukura railway when completed to Tahora.' This proposal being at complete variance with the-avowed intention oi the Minister of Public Works to speed up the completion of all main lines. .A special meeting of .the Taranaki Progress League also expressed an emphatic protest.
