PRICE OF GAS
Sydney. October 28. The Necessary Commodities Commission has granted the Australian Gaslight Company's application to increase the price of gas for street lighting from ,£3 los. to ill 10s. per lamp. Proportionate increases will be made by oilier companies. According to the evidenco submitted, the companies have been.supplying street lighting at a heavy loss, arid they desired tiie incrcaso to covor the actual cost and the increased prices of material and production. This increase would enable the compau is to reduce the price of u'as to private consumers,—Prc«a Assn.
