HOME SERVICE LEAGUE

The followins resolution was carried at an extraordinary general meeting of the Home Service League, Dunedin branch,' held this evening:—"That this meetiii" of members of the Home Service Leaguo of Now Zealand resident in ii the Otago district respectfully urges J'ar- t liament to deal promptly uiid.adequately a with the requests contained in the petit tion presented by the league, and in 1: doing so emphasises the fact that the .) economic loss sustained by its members I through their service to the Empire necessitates reliof being granted duripg n this session in order that immediate re- r dress may bo giveu to its members; and 1 further, whilst fully recognising that the service ol members of the leaguo did not equal in dcgrco the service of the overseas forces, this meeting submits m support of its claims that the sorvico of its members was unstinted, was given i at great personal inconvenience and monetary loss, and was given to the utmost, and this meeting instructs the sec- 1: retary of the local branch of the league C to transmit immediately to the Prime « Minister and Leader of the _ Opposition s this expression of the feelings of its e members." o
