Mr William Brown, of Messrs. Laery and Co., has returned from a visit, to tlii! Old Country. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown (his son and daughter-in-law) aro still in England. .
Tho death occurred suddenly on Thursday night of Mr. Richard Henry Williams, eldest son of Mr. S S. Williams, of Oriental Bay. The lato Mr Williams was prominently connected with the City milk supply, and played no inconsiderable pari in the negotiations between the vendors and the City Council- when the latter body took over the supply. He was a capable business man, and the news of his death came a 6 ft shock to his relatives and friends. Hemorrhage of the braiu was the cause of death. Deceased leaves a widow and daughter.
A Pross Association message from Christchurch states that Lieutenant-Col-onel B H. Collins, who was AdjutantGeneral to the New Zealand Forces m 1913-li, arrived by the Tainui. He will settle in the Dominion.
Mr. Alfred East, of Wellington, was advised yesterday of the' death of his mother, Mrs. 'James East, of Gladstone Howl, Gisborne, nn old and respected resident of that town
• Lieutenant E. R. V. Petne, N.Z.S.C., of the staff of No. 5 Group (Wellington), has been transferred to papier as adjutant of the 9th (Hawke's Bay) Regnnent. Lieutenant Petrio was secretary of the Wellington Orphans' Club.
Private advice "has been received in Wellington that Mr. Paul Clifford, engineer of the Waihi mine, who has lfteii acting as- meteorological observer at Waihi, died on Saturday evening. The deceased was also an amateur astronomer and a conscientious -worker in the science of meteorology. He leaves a widow pud small'family, also a sister, working with the Plunlat Society in Wellington.
