. f IN COUESB OF EEMOVAL As indicated in Tire Dominion reoenlly, I'cnthorston Camp is now being demolished: The work will proceed gradually, and it is expected that within tvelve months the enrnp will have disappeared Most of the buildings' are availa'ble for disposal, and have been hnnded over to the Public Works Department for demolition and distribution to the various State Departments, and to private individuals, including returned soldiers-, who may tendor for the materinl to ■ the Under-Secretary for Public Turks. A number of the buildings are being temporarily retained for v--ho storago of"cquipment arriving from Home, pending the construction of proper mobilisation stores in the various districts. ' IS' is understood that tho Defence Department has taken over from the Eduction Department- the Burnham Estate, twelve miie* south of Christchurch. which will be used in connection with defence scheme. 'ITte existing Industrial School Eutldings will te used as mobilisation stores for the Sonfli Island, and the area for training purposes. 1 ~"
