CRICKET
ENGLISH TEAM/IN QUARANTINE. (Hoc. October"22, 10.40 p.m.) Frcmantle, October 22. Tho Osterley, with tho team of English cricketers aboard, has arrived, but owing to a fatal caso of typhus the vessel is Quarantined. Tho victim was a stcerago passenger, who joined tho ship at Naples, and landed at Colombo on October 10. whero he died.- The quarantine period for typhus is seventeen days, consequently if the cricketers landed tliev would have been quarantined, and unable to play the three-days' match against West Australia, which was scheduled to start to-morrow. Tho match has therefore been cut out. The Englishmen remained aboard, and will proceed direct to Adelaide—Press Assn. Sydney, October 22. The secretary of the Australian Cricket Hoard of ' Control has received a cable message from tho Marylebone Club, stating that it is unable ho agree to the eight-ball over during tho English team's present lour of Australia.—Press Assn.
