Speakers at a meeting of the American Bankers' Association that tho fanners of the United States were faced with a shrinkage in prices, as compared with the previous year, aggregating more than 2,500,000,000 dollars—nearly 17 per cent. This year's wool clip totalled 2o8.E!07,0001b., and at the prices prevailing in September, its value would be 183,000,000 dollars,' but, on the basis of the present prices it would bring only 73,000,000 ' dollars. The Americali Bankers' Association Convention is considering the proposed orcanisation under its auspiccs of an international trading corporation, with ft capital of a hundred million dollars. CANADIAN SUGAR DEALERS FORCED TO COMPETE WITH AMERICAN REFINERS. Ottawa, October 20. The Canadian Government has permanently cancelled the order of the Board of Commerce, prohibiting the importa-1 tion of sugar, and' the stabilisation of prices.
