Hughes, the latter i 9 seeking to arrant a conference between the shipowners and workers, to discuss the vexed question of the employers' waterside bureaux, which the federation is seeking to eliminate.— Press Assn. NEWCASTLE COAL TRIMMERS' DISPUTE SETTLED. (Rec. October 20, 1.10 a.m.) Sydney, October; 10. The coal trimmers' trouble at Newcastle has been settled, the stevedores having agreed to revert to the system in vogue prior to the 1917 shrike of Migaging men on the wharf instead of through tli6 labour bureaux— Press Assn, i TThe coal trimmers at Newcastle initiated harassing strikes against overseas vessels. They notified the agents that they would work inter-State vessels and those which did not engage labour at the employment bureaux, in preference to overseas vessels.
