ARABS' STUBBORN RESISTANCE. (Rec. October 19, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 18. A communique states:—Three thousand Arabs made a stubborn resistance on October 13 in a strongly entrenched position in palm gardens on the right bank of the Euphrates. The enemy lost heavily. The. column was then able to proceed to the relief of Samawah, the garrison of which is safe.- -Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
