FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for norlherlv to westerly winds, strong and squally at times in and southward of Cook Strait. Increasing cloudiness probable generally and unsettled conditions and rain shortly, particularly in ihc western and southern districts, Tho barometer has a falliuz tendency.
Preswe lias decreased to-day in the southern parts, but anti-cyclonic conditions have ruled, and the weather has been fair to cloudy generally. Frcali northerly winds have prevailed southwards of New "Plymouth and Castle-joint, and variable breezes northwards ° b. v. peiihertox. Meteorological Office, Wellington, October 19. IS2O.
