MEN WHO JOINED BRITISH ARMY
REFUNDS OF PASSAGE MOSEY. Army Order 275, of lfllß, -which authorised refunds of passage money for those who proceeded from abroad after the declaration of war and joined the British Army, has been extended. Claims will be allowed up to December 31, 1920, inclusive, for the following special categories, who were unable to submit their claims before "September 1, 1919:—(a) Those who. were actually engaged in military operations in -distant parts of tho world. Places other than France, iielgium, or Hie area of the Rhine Army, (b) Those who were incapacitated by wounds or illness, contracted on active service, (c) Those' who were killed in action, or died from the result of wounds or illness contracted during their service: ' In this case application should be made by, or on' behalf of, the nearest relative. Claims other than those specified will not be considered.
Each claim must he accompanied by h, full statement of the reason which prevented its submission before September 1, 1919. Claims will be considered on their moritn, provided that they como within the above categories, and aro supported by the'particulars regarding date of sailing from abroad, date of arrival in the United. Kingdom, date of enlistment, etc. Full regimental particulars (rank, regimental number, find last regiment.) of the applicant should be stated. All claims must be submitted to the War Office, or to n recognised military authority; on or before December 31, 1920. \o extension of this date will bn allowed.
Applications should, if necessary, bo rendered without waiting for the steamship company'* certificate, which slionM bo forwarded when .obtained. A nolo that thin will he done should be rondo on the claim.
