The following figures were presented nt n meeting of the Tramway Board, shoving the result of th* first six months' work of the current financial jean-Revenue., .£110,783; operating expenses .£80,213; standing and other charges ,£30,325; surplus, JC245. The figures'for Inst year were: Revenue, .M 2.515; operating expenses,. ,£63,441; standing and other charges, £10,32!); deficiency, JJIMS. The position was regarded as satisfactory, but the chairman (the Hou. <T. Barr) pointed out that if a heavy cost of living bonus w*re granted by 'tho Arbitration Court the board ■would have to consider the question of waking a further increase in fares.
