9 j Simla, October 10 Messrs. Eaiburn (author on mountaincoring) and Crarfbrd, both members of tho Alpine Club, London, have returned to Darjceling after an attempt to explore Mount Kiuchinjiuga. They attacked Kinchinjingn from the southwest, exploring the glaciers, in an attempt to reach the summit in this direction. They found this impossible, no greater height than twenty thousand feet being attained. The return was made in a blinding snowstorm, through a new pass eighteen thousand feet high.—Aus.-N.Z.
