EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL
There were present at the last meeting of th Kaslbutime Borough Council the Mnvo? (Mr. F. H. Mather . Councillors Bafne, Bennett, Pilcher, Giles. Fishery and Shortt. Accounts were passed for payment as follow fund account, J399 7s. sd.j ferry service ac count, £1568 Its. Id. Owing to the increased popularity of the Recreation Ground with visiting snorts teams, and to further sport m the borough, it was decided that the. north. portion of the shelter shed be enclosed, ' Unit seats and hangers be erected in tho .shed, and the lattice work at the entrance, thus making the accommodation more convenient and comfortable. Ihe grounds are to be top-dressed and put in first-class order. Tt. was reported to the meeting that tho transfers of laud at the bottom of Tuatoru Street had been completed, and ■this will enable the council to go ahead almost immediately with the work of opening Tuatoru Street to the Recreation Ground. It is the council's desire to place on record its high appreciation of the public spirit displnycd V Mr., E. P. Pearce and Mrs. Mackenzie in making the gift of this land.
